TERMS_OVERVIEW

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Notto, a proof-of-concept component library and documentation system. By accessing or using Notto, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Notto is provided as an open source project for educational, development, and evaluation purposes. These terms outline acceptable use, licensing, and limitations.

LICENSING_TERMS

DUAL_LICENSE_STRUCTURE

Notto is available under a dual license system:

  • AGPL-3.0 License: Free for open source projects that comply with AGPL-3.0 copyleft requirements, including source code disclosure
  • Commercial License: Available for proprietary projects that cannot comply with AGPL-3.0 requirements

AGPL-3.0 Requirements: If you use Notto under the AGPL-3.0 license, you must make your complete source code available under the same license, including for web-based applications.

Commercial Licensing: Contact tmerrien@outlook.com for commercial licensing options if your project cannot comply with AGPL-3.0 requirements.

ACCEPTABLE_USE

PERMITTED_USES

  • Development: Use Notto components in software development projects, subject to applicable license terms
  • Learning: Study the code, architecture, and patterns for educational purposes
  • Modification: Fork, modify, and customize components according to license requirements
  • Distribution: Share and distribute Notto under appropriate license terms
  • Commercial Use: Use in commercial projects under proper licensing (AGPL-3.0 or commercial license)

PROHIBITED_USES

  • License Violation: Using Notto in ways that violate AGPL-3.0 requirements without obtaining a commercial license
  • Malicious Activities: Using Notto for harmful, illegal, or unethical purposes
  • Trademark Infringement: Using Notto trademarks or branding in unauthorized ways
  • Misrepresentation: Claiming authorship or ownership of Notto components
  • Reverse Engineering: Attempting to extract proprietary algorithms or bypass licensing restrictions

WARRANTIES_AND_DISCLAIMERS

AS-IS BASIS: Notto is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. This is a proof-of-concept project and may contain bugs, incomplete features, or other issues.

  • No Warranty: No guarantee of performance, reliability, security, or fitness for any particular purpose
  • Use at Own Risk: Users assume all risks associated with using Notto in their projects
  • No Support Guarantee: No obligation to provide support, updates, or maintenance, though we may do so voluntarily
  • Limitation of Liability: In no event shall the authors be liable for any damages arising from the use of Notto

CHANGES_AND_UPDATES

We reserve the right to modify these terms of use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Continued use of Notto after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
